Won't Power Up?

If your computer will not come on and the power light is not on:

Check all power cables, surge protectors and power outlets for proper installation and voltage levels. One way to check for voltage is to plug a lamp or radio into the same outlet. If all seems properly connected, then you probably have a hardware problem with your computer and it needs to be brought in for service.

If your computer will not come on and the power light is on:

Check your video cable connections, both video and power. Also check to see if your monitor light is on and what color or status it is. A steady green light on a newer monitor is a sign that your monitor is on and sees a signal from the computer. A flashing yellow light is a sign that your monitor is not receiving a signal from the computer. Either of these probably means your unit needs to be brought in for repair.

If your computer has no power light at all, then you could have a bad monitor or bad switch on the monitor.
